Something That Might Work to Help You Lose Weight – Sensible Weight Loss

There are many fad diets that promise to help you lose weight but ultimately unless you alter your lifestyle and continue to use the diet plan forever your weight loss will be temporary and yes, as you’ve probably heard before you gain back more than you lost. So I adopted a plan I call burn your largest calorie meal – It’s a simple idea that can have great results. If your largest meal during the day is 600 calories your target would be to burn 600 or more calories while exercising – My exercise of choice is the elliptical so I’m not putting so much stress on my knees. This serves 2 purposes I exercise on a regular basis and when I eat during the day I pay more attention to how many calories I’m eating so I’ll eat smarter .

Healthy low calorie snacks – Keep them handy!

Just a quick note – I found myself getting hungry without a healthy nutritious snack available, so off to the vending machine I went, problem is the vending machine was out of the healthy snacks but did still have one of my favorites – a nice sweet cinnamon roll. The need for something to hold me over until lunch and the convenience got me. As I was eating the roll I was trying my best to just eat a small portion, Oh well my meal plan for the day was completely blown, I might as well have some cheese cake later (thinking and eating fat). It is so easy to get off track – remember getting back on track is important. Don’t let a slip up keep you from reaching and maintaining your weight goal-I’m not. I’m going to walk a little faster and longer for the next few days and make sure I have some healthy snacks at all times.

Do you “Eat Fat”?

Do you eat fat? What I mean by eating fat is – Do you have to let’s say put mayo on your sandwich or can you eat it dry or with maybe mustard? Something I’ve noticed folks tend to do as an excuse to why they can’t lose weight. “I can’t stand a sandwich without mayo so if I can’t have it I’ll eat (substitute) something else instead”- the substitute often is not satisfying so the overeating continues. I’ll get into my thoughts on substituting foods for what you are actually craving at a later date. When folks eat fat they tend to put emphases on sauces, cheese, oils, breads, butter, sugar etc.

It Works!

Finally after several attempts to lose weight and keep it off I’ve been able to maintain a healthy weight for more than a year. Yes, I do watch what I eat but I haven’t cut out anything. What I’ve realized is no matter what plan or program you choose being in the right frame of mind and making sure you include little to moderate exercise are truly the keys. If anyone has a weight loss plan or program that allows you to eat without moving let me know.     So My list start like this : 1) Eat small meals 2)drink plenty of low or no calorie drinks (the less sugar the better) 3) Light to moderate exercise 4)Last but not least Get into the “Right Frame of Mind”.
